Over 480 grams of drugs seized following police operation
LIHU`E — A Kapa`a man faces state charges after a police operation in February led to
the seizure of over 480 grams of drugs and a total of $37,781 in U.S. currency.
Ramah Wong, 40, of Kapa`a, was wanted on two bench warrants as a result of violating
his probation terms on Oahu. Kauai police arrested Wong on Feb. 5, in Lihu`e, for Revocation
of Probation totaling $20,000 in bail.
During the search to arrest, KPD's Vice Section recovered $3,430 in cash and a canine
screening alerted police to the suspicion of narcotics in two backpacks and a vehicle in Wong's
possession.
Police executed a search warrant on the backpacks and vehicle two days later, leading
to the recovery of approximately 471.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine, approximately 9.1
grams of marijuana, and an additional $34,351 in cash.
Wong now faces multiple charges including Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the First
Degree, Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Third Degree, and Promoting a Detrimental Drug in
the Third Degree.
Police continue to investigate this case.
Wong's next court hearing for Revocation of Probation is currently scheduled for April 3.
