1 P.M. UPDATE: Flash Flood Warning cancelled; Kuhio Highway near
Hanalei Bridge reopens to one lane of alternating traffic
The National Weather Service has cancelled the Flash Flood Warning for the island of
Kauai as of 12:51 p.m. Thursday.
Kuhio Highway in the vicinity of the Hanalei Bridge was reopened to one lane of
alternating traffic at approximately 12:45 p.m. Due to the reopening of the highway, the American
Red Cross shelter at Hanalei Elementary School closed at approximately 1 p.m.
The state Department of Transportation reports that the landslide in Wainiha, near mile
marker 6, was cleared and the road was opened at approximately 12 p.m.
