Volunteers sought for Sticker Shock prevention campaign
LIHU'E — Life's Choices Kauai is seeking volunteers for its Sticker Shock prevention
campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the consequences of underage drinking.
The campaign is a collaboration between the county, business owners and their
customers, and island youth.
On Friday, April 27, from 4:30 to 9 p.m., participants will meet at various businesses
around the island that sell liquor, and set up sticker displays that call attention to the legal
ramifications of providing alcohol to minors.
"We would like to invite anyone who's interested to join us in our efforts to educate the
community on the negative effects of underage drinking," said Prevention Coordinator Maile
Murray. "We plan to post over 3,000 stickers that day and could use the help."
"This initiative also enhances the leadership and advocacy skills of our youth participants
as well as provide other peer -to -peer opportunities for them," said Life's Choices Kauai
Coordinator Theresa Koki. "In addition, it's a great way for parents to start a discussion on this
important topic with their keiki."
For more information and/or to volunteer for this event, please contact Theresa Koki at
