7:25 a.m. Update: Flash Flood Warning for island of Kauai extended to 10
a.m.; K0hi6 Highway in the vicinity of the Hanalei Bridge now open to one
lane of alternating traffic
A Flash Flood Warning for the island of Kaua'i has been extended to 10 a.m., according
to the National Weather Service. The warning may be extended, dropped or modified as
conditions develop.
Kuhi6 Highway in the vicinity of the Hanalei Bridge is now open to one lane of alternating
traffic. Motorists are advised to drive with caution and allow for extra travel time as traffic will be
slow -going.
Hanalei School is open as a Red Cross shelter.
A Flash Flood Warning means flash flooding is imminent or occurring in streams, roads
and low-lying areas. Do not cross fast -flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.
Please exercise caution on the roadways and please stay tuned to local media for
updates.
Ponding, low visibility and other hazardous driving conditions are expected. If you must
drive, please do so with extreme caution.
