Managing Director LYLE TABATA, ACTING COUNTY ENGINEER Tel (808) 241-4996 Fax (808) 241-6604 Solid Waste Division reminds residents of flood -debris management updates The County of Kaua`i's Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division is reminding residents of the following updates for flood -related refuse collection and debris management. Wainiha-Ha`ena: - Household trash collection will be on Sunday, May 13. Residents are asked to place bagged refuse in their carts the night prior. Bagged refuse can also be placed at curbside if customers do not have carts. - Limited bulky item and flood -related debris collection remains ongoing. Residents are asked to leave out bulky items and flood -related debris along Kuhio Highway or the county's right of way. Hanalei: - Refuse bins staged at Waioli Park will be available until Friday, May 11. Residents may use these bins to dispose mixed waste, demolition debris, green waste, and metals. Residents are reminded to separate items before disposing into the bins. - Until Friday, May 11, the Hanalei refuse transfer station, located in Princeville, will allow the disposal of bulky items and continue its extended hours to 5:15 p.m. Regular hours and services will be resumed on Saturday, May 12. Regular hours are from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and normal size restriction for solid waste is three feet in length. Koloa: - Refuse bins that are staged in the vicinity of Waila`au Road and Aloha Place will be available until Friday, May 11. Residents may use these bins to dispose mixed waste, demolition debris, green waste, and metals. Residents are reminded to separate items before disposing into the bins.
