Loose mixed waste not accepted at Hanapepe refuse transfer station;
Kapa`a refuse transfer station resumes normal operations
HANAPEPE — Due to electrical issues, loose mixed waste is not being accepted at the
Hanapepe refuse transfer station until further notice.
The facility is still accepting bagged trash, along with green waste, scrap metal,
appliances, propane tanks, used tires, and residential used motor for recycling.
Residents wishing to dispose of loose mixed waste during this period can take their
items to the Kekaha Landfill or Lihu'e refuse transfer station.
Additionally, repairs to the Kapa`a refuse transfer station have been made and the
station has resumed all operations.
