County announces holiday closures
LIHU'E — In observance of King Kamehameha Day, County of Kauai offices will be
closed on Monday, June 11, along with all refuse transfer stations.
In addition, all of the neighborhood centers will be closed on the holiday.
The Kapa`a and Waimea swimming pools, which are normally closed on Mondays, will
observe the holiday on Tuesday, June 12, and will resume their normal hours on Wednesday,
May 30.
All of the HI-5 bottle redemption centers will also be closed on King Kamehameha Day.
The schedule for residential refuse pick-up will remain unchanged. The Kekaha Landfill
will also be open from 8 to 10:30 a.m. for commercial businesses and the public.
The Kauai Bus will be operating on a modified schedule on the holiday.
In observance of the holiday, the County's Planning Department will distribute resident
placards, work passes, and shuttle passes for the Wainiha-H5'ena area on Tuesday, June 12,
from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at their office located in the Lihu`e Civic Center. Regular office hours are
Mondays and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information about the distribution of

Normal business hours for county offices and services will resume on Tuesday, June 12.
