Jesse Korn pleads to multiple sexual assaults
LIHU`E — Prosecuting Attorney Justin F. Kollar announced that Jesse Korn, 27, formerly
of Koloa, pled no contest to the charges of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, a class A felony,
Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, a class B felony, Kidnapping, a class B felony, and Sexual
Assault in the Third Degree, a class C felony, for sexually assaulting three individuals, including
a minor during the burglary of multiple residences in Koloa in December 2017.
On Tuesday, Korn appeared in front of Fifth Circuit Judge Kathleen N.A. Watanabe, and
entered his no contest pleas along with his court -appointed attorney, John Murphy, and a
Marshallese interpreter. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Like represented the State of
Hawai'i.
The State will be seeking a term of 35 years in prison at sentencing. Because Korn is not
a U.S. citizen, he faces deportation following his prison sentence.
Korn was apprehended following a two-day manhunt and has been in custody since
December 12, 2017, in lieu of $500,000 bail.
"Mahalo to detectives Makana Rivera, Michael Nii, and Chris Calio for their thorough and
professional investigation. We are satisfied knowing that this dangerous individual will never walk
the streets of our community again," stated Kollar.
Korn remains in custody and will be sentenced on Sept. 26, at 9 a.m.
