10:30 a.m., August 29, DOW Updates: Water service shutdown extended for
customers on Ananalu Road, Anahulu Road and a portion of Kuhi'o Highway
in Wainiha until further notice
WAIN IHA -The Department of Water (DOW) has extended the emergency water service shutdown
for customers located on Anahulu Road, Ananalu Road and a portion of Kuhi'o Highway; between
Ananalu Road and Powerhouse Road in Wainiha, until further notice. Additional assessments of the
infrastructure is required before repairs can begin due to the complexity of the repairs and location
of the break in the system.
Access to potable water from two hydrant connections fitted with faucets is available for residents
and is located at the intersection of Powerhouse Road and Kuhi'o Highway in Wainiha. A trailer -
mounted water tank containing potable water is also available at the Hanalei Colony Resort's parking
lot; located at 5-7130 Kuhi'o Highway in Hanalei. Customers should bring their own containers to fill.
Water conservation notice continues for all Wainiha residents until further notice in order to avoid a
full water outage. DOW is monitoring water tank levels during the repairs and will announce when
the conservation notice is lifted.
