1 p.m., August 29, DOW REVISED Updates; "Do Not Drink" advisory issued
for customers located on Ananalu Road, Anahulu Road and on a portion of
Kuhi'o Highway in Wainiha
WAINIHA - The Department of Water (DOW) has issued a "Do not drink" advisory for residents
located on Ananalu Road, Anahulu Road and on a portion of Kuhi'o Highway; between Ala Eke Road
and the Lumaha'i River in Wainiha, until further notice. DOW crews have completed the main line
repairs and will be returning water back to the mainline, as this occurs, customers in the affected
area may experience water service being restored, however due to the possible exposure to the
service lines during the recent weather events, DOW is advising residents not to drink or cook with
tap -water, as a precautionary measure, until further notice.
Customers located on Anahulu Road, Anahulu Road and on a portion of Kuhi'o Highway; between Ala
Eke Road and the Lumaha'i River in Wainiha, are advised that when the water main is turned back on,
air and or existing sediment may be mixed into the water causing it to appear white or discolored. If
it occurs, customers are advised to flush water from an outside hose bib until water is clear, then
continue to adhere to the "Do not drink" advisory.
Water conservation notice continues for all Wainiha residents until further notice in order to avoid a
full water outage. DOW is monitoring water tank levels during the repairs and will announce when
the conservation notice is lifted.
