Loose mixed waste not accepted at Kapa'a refuse transfer station until
further notice; repairs anticipated to be made within two weeks
KAPA'A — The public is reminded that the Kapa'a refuse transfer station will not accept
loose mixed waste due to electrical repairs, which is anticipated to be alleviated within the next
two weeks.
Recycling services will not be affected, pending weather conditions.
Only bagged trash will be accepted until further notice while equipment repairs are
underway. Additionally, the Kapa'a transfer station may be closed periodically during the
business day, while trucks which receive bagged trash are replaced with empty trucks. These
delays are for the safety of the public.
The public is advised that the LThu`e refuse transfer station is available as an alternative
to Kapa'a during this period. Reminders and announcements will be made when repairs take
place.
For more information, please call the Solid Waste Division at 241-4841.
