"This project is crucial to providing and increasing the level of water services for Ele'ele customers," said Dustin Moises, DOW's chief of construction management. "The booster pumps will not only support future affordable housing projects, but it will also provide the level of redundancy in our system that will be beneficial now and into the future." The Hanapepe-'Ele'ele Booster Pump Station Project is part of the DOW's Water Plan 2020, a comprehensive long-range plan that addresses the need to upgrade aging infrastructures on Kauai. Work will include installation of a new booster pump, as well as repairs to the existing pump, which will both service the 'Ele'ele community. The construction contract was awarded to Wasa Electrical Services, Inc. The subcontractor involved in this project is Dorvein D Leis Company, Inc. Work has already begun and is expected to be completed in March, 2019, weather permitting. Reverend Jade Waialeale-Battad of Ke Akua Mana Church officiated over the blessing ceremony.
