The decedents have been identified as 39-year-old Shane Duncan and 33-year-old Sanoe Soares, both of Kapa`a. According to a preliminary investigation, Duncan was heading west on Kawaihau Road at roughly 10 p.m., on a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle with Soares on board. Medics arrived on scene and transported her to Wilcox Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Duncan sustained life -threatening injuries and was transported by medics to Wilcox Hospital, where he later died. The driver of the Jeep, a 53-year-old Kapa`a woman, sustained non -life threatening injuries and was transported to Wilcox Hospital where she was treated and has since been released. Kawaihau Road was closed in both directions for approximately four hours while traffic investigators conducted an on -scene investigation.
