Wastewater spill on Kuhio Highway at the northern Leho Drive intersection
WAILUA — The public is advised of a wastewater spill that occurred around 6:30 p.m.,
Thursday, Nov. 1, on Kuhio Highway, near the northern Leho Drive intersection.
The spill occurred due to a blockage in the sewer line and resulted in the overflow of
approximately 1,000 gallons of wastewater.
The Wastewater Management Division is currently working on addressing the blockage
and will continue to monitor the area until the blockage is cleared.
While work is being done, a portion of the outer northbound lane of Kuhio Highway, at
the north -junction of Leho Drive, will be closed until further notice.
Motorists should drive with caution, expect delays and adjust their travel times as
needed.
Officials are asking the public to avoid this area if possible. Updates will be given as new
information is available.
