Reminder: Solid waste staging area at Kepuhi Point open
Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays
County officials are reminding the public that the solid waste staging area located at
Kepuhi Point is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents may dispose of the following: bulky items, green waste, tires, metals, white
goods, and propane tanks.
"To help the county continue this service for the community, we ask residents not to use
the site during non -operational hours," said Deputy County Engineer Lyle Tabata.
Liquid waste, hazardous waste, and regular household refuse are not accepted at the
staging area. Regular household refuse must be placed in county refuse carts on the right of
way for weekly refuse collection service.
For residents who are not signed up for refuse collection service, they may take their
trash to a refuse collection station. You may sign up for refuse collection service online at
https://www.kauai.gov/RefuseCollection or call 241-4091.
The Solid Waste Division encourages residents to utilize the Hanalei transfer station if
possible, including the residential recycling bins.
