DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR C on News Release For Immediate Release: December 12, 2018 HOUSING AGENCY KANANI FU, DIRECTOR Tel (808) 241-4444 Fax (808) 241-5118 Volunteers sought to assist with annual Point -In -Time Count L-IHU`E — The Kauai County Housing Agency and the Kauai Community Alliance are seeking volunteers to assist with the annual Point -In -Time Count from Jan. 23 to 28, 2019. The Point -In -Time Count is a real-time count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons on a single night and is required by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to access homeless -related funding. "Volunteers will discover their own power to make a difference, and work with agencies serving the homeless population," said Kanani Fu, Housing Director for the Kauai County Housing Agency. "The annual Point -In -Time Count provides critical data and information that will be used to enhance homeless services and to prioritize homeless related initiatives." To volunteer for the Point -In -Time Count, you must be 18 years of age or older to participate and be able to attend a mandatory Point -In -Time Count training on Dec. 19 at a determined location.
