Kekaha Beach closed to swimming due to shark sighting
KEKAHA — Ocean Safety officials have closed Kekaha Beach to swimming until further
notice due to a shark sighting.
Lifeguards report that a roughly eight -foot shark was sighted off shore. The type of shark
is unknown.
As a safety precaution, Ocean Safety officials are advising no swimming until further
notice and signs have been posted to warn beachgoers of the shark sighting.
The beach will remain closed until at least Sunday morning when lifeguards will
reassess if it can be reopened.
