RESOLUTION APPOINTING ROSS KAGAWA AS REPRESENTATIVE AND
MASON K. CHOCK AS THE ALTERNATE TO THE EXECUTIVE
COMMITTEE OF THE HAWAI'I STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES
WHEREAS, the Hawai'i State Association of Counties (HSAC) is a
nonprofit corporation comprised of members of the four County Councils of the State
of Hawai'i; and
WHEREAS, Section 5 of the HSAC Bylaws requires each County Council to
appoint one of its members to serve as an officer of the HSAC Executive Committee,
and to designate an alternate member, prior to April 15 of each year, and whose terms
shall begin on July 1 of the ensuing fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, Section 5 of the HSAC Bylaws also requires that in making the
appointment, each Council shall delegate to the appointees sufficient authority to
formulate the proposed slate of officers; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF KAUA'I, STATE
OF HAWAI'I, THAT:
SECTION 1. Council Vice Chair Ross Kagawa is hereby appointed as
Kaua'i County Council's representative to the HSAC Executive Committee for the
term commencing on July 1, 2020, and ending on June 30, 2021.
SECTION 2. Councilmember Mason K. Chock is hereby appointed as
Kaua'i County Council's alternate representative to the HSAC Executive Committee
for the term commencing on July 1, 2020, and ending on June 30, 2021.
SECTION 3. The Kaua'i County Council hereby delegates to the
appointees, sufficient authority to formulate the slate of officers for the term
commencing on July 1, 2020.
SECTION 4. Certified copies of this Resolution shall be transmitted to
the President of the HSAC Executive Committee.

*Beginning with the March 11, 2020 Council Meeting and until further notice,
Councilmember Arthur Brun will not be present due to U.S. v. Arthur Brun et al.,
Cr. No. 20-00024-DKW (United States District Court), and therefore will be noted as
excused (i.e., not present).
