2. MAJOR CHANGES AND/OR VARIANCES IN OPERATIONS BUDGET
Currently one position is being reviewed for reclassification. Decreases in our non -
personnel budget which includes the decrease a significant decrease in items to
travel and controlled assets. Due to the pandemic, meetings are being held via teleconference
resulting in decreases in travel for liquor department staff and liquor control commissioners.
3. OPERATIONAL CHALLENGES
Maintaining investigator's safety and security by providing training and safety resources especially
when dealing with Covid-19 protocols.
Educating and monitoring Covid-19 compliances of licensees and their patrons.
Another departmental goal and challenge are to provide a solution to assist the licensees with
their annual percentage fees for FY2022. The pandemic has put our licensees in a position where
we anticipate gross sales to decrease significantly. One position would be the deferring of hiring
a new director. By this, we could add additional savings in expenditures that could play a big
part with the upcoming year's end percentage fee formula calculations.
4. TOP 3 OPERATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS FROM FY 2021
• A department's proposal to assist licensees with their percentage fee for FY2021 payment
was granted. With the three-month extension all percentage fees were received ($1.2mil).
• To date investigators have conducted 2,531 inspections which resulted in 2 warnings for
Covid-19 infractions.
• Department oversaw the sale and distribution of liquor sales in 2020 in the amount of
$118,468,037.18.
