(update) HANAPEPE —The Department of Water (DOW) has extended the scheduled water service shutdown for customers located on a portion of Puolo Road; from Hanapepe Road to Kaumuali'i Highway, including some customers located near the intersection of Puolo Road and Kaumuali'i Highway, and the Shell gas station located at the intersection of Kaumuali'i Highway and Iona Road in Hanapepe, until 6 a.m. due to additional work required to complete the tie in of a temporary 12 inch waterline. A trailer -mounted water tank containing potable water is available for customers and is located near the intersection of Puolo Road and Kaumuali'i Highway in Hanapepe. Customers are asked to bring their own containers to fill up. Customers are advised that when the water main is turned back on, air and/or existing sediment may be mixed into the water causing it to appear white or discolored. This is normal and if it occurs, customers may flush water out from an outside hose bib until the water is clear. An update will be provided if new information becomes available.
