Immediate water conservation request issued for Moloa'a customers
KILAUEA—The Department of Water (DOW) has issued an immediate water conservation request for
the Moloa'a area until further notice in order to avoid a full water outage in the system. Loka Partners
11, who owns and operates the water system in Moloa'a, is conducting repairs to their water pump.
Customers located in Moloa'a are asked to limit water consumption to essential uses only, which
includes cooking, bathing and toilet flushing. Water conservation measures include refraining from car
washing, turning off automatic ice makers, sprinkler systems and outdoor irrigation, and using water
wisely both indoors and outdoors.
The DOW will provide a trailer mounted water tank which will be located at the water tank site near the
south-eastern entrance to Koolau Road, for essential uses. Customers will need to bring their own
water containers.
