Water services restored on Hekili Road and Ohu Road in Kapa'a at 9 p.m.
(8:30 p.m.) KAPA'A—The Department of Water (DOW) has completed the repairs to the main line on
Hekili Road and customers may begin to experience low water pressure to full service restoration,
however DOW crews are currently flushing the water lines and advises customers to refrain from water
consumption or use until approximately 9 p.m. or until water is clear. Once water is clear, customers
may resume normal water use.
Customers are advised that when the water main is turned back on after repairs, air and or existing
sediment may be mixed into the water causing it to appear white or discolored. This is normal and if it
occurs, customers may flush water out from an outside hose bib until water is clear.
DOW crews will continue to work in the area to complete remaining repairs and road work at the
intersection of Hekili Road and Kawaihau Road in Kapa'a. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution
in the area and adhere to all safety signs and traffic control personnel.
DOW thanks customers for their patience and cooperation during the emergency repairs.
