DOW crews were able to gain access to the Hanalei pump station and repair electrical power issues to the pump and customers may now resume normal water use. The water conservation request continues for Kilauea customers. DOW crews are working with Kaua'i Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC) to repair an electrical problem affecting our Kilauea pumps. Residents and businesses in Kilauea are asked to limit water use to essential needs only; such as drinking, cooking and sanitation purposes, in order to avoid a full water outage. Water conservation measures include refraining from car washing, turning off automatic irrigation systems, ice machines and using water wisely indoors and outdoors. An update will be provided as soon as new information becomes available. To monitor updates online, please visit www.facebook.com/KauaiDOW.
