Ocean Safety officials advising no swimming at Po`ipu, Salt Pond
Kekaha Beach remains closed due to Monday's shark sightings
PO`IPU — Ocean Safety officials are advising no swimming at Po`ipu Beach Park and
Salt Pond Beach Park until further notice due to reports of Box Jellyfish. Officials continue to
advise no swimming at all Kekaha beaches due to Monday's shark sightings.
Beachgoers are urged to heed all posted warning signs and advisories.
On Monday, lifeguards reported that three Tiger sharks, roughly between 12-feet and
15-feet, were sighted off shore near Kekaha Beach and the areas known as Davidsons and
Targets.
Kekaha Beach will remain closed until at least Tuesday afternoon, when lifeguards
reassess if it can be reopened.
Updates will be announced.
