Firefighters extinguish fire at Emmalani Court condos
PRINCEVILLE — Firefighters responded to a structure fire at the Emmalani Court
condominiums in Princeville Monday night, which resulted in the total loss to one of its units.
No occupants were in the unit at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
At approximately 5:15 p.m., firefighters from the Hanalei, Kai5kea, and Kapa`a fire
stations, along with Rescue 3 personnel, the on -duty Battalion Chief, and medics, were
dispatched to the scene.
Once on scene, firefighters found a unit on the first floor fully engulfed in flames and
black smoke. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the single unit, before fully
extinguishing the fire at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The fire caused total damages to the first -floor unit, with significant smoke damage to the
unit directly above, and possible electrical damage to two other adjacent units.
Fire inspectors estimate the cost of damage to the structure and its contents to be
roughly $350,000.
Volunteers from the American Red Cross are assisting the displaced individuals.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
