DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR os News Release For Immediate Release: March 4, 2019 KAUA'I FIRE DEPARTMENT KILIPAKI VAUGHAN, DEPUTY CHIEF Tel (808) 241-4980 Fax (808) 241-6508 Firefighters extinguish brush fires in Kekaha on Sunday Kekaha — Firefighters extinguished four brush fires in Kekaha, in an area about 25 feet by 400 feet, near the vicinity of Kikiaola Harbor in Kekaha on Sunday. No injuries were reported. Firefighters from the Waimea and Hanapepe fire stations responded to the brush fires that were reported approximately 2:40 p.m. Firefighters from the Waimea station first arrived on scene at approximately 2:45 p.m. Because of high winds, Engine 6 from the Hanapepe fire station responded to assist with two brush fires closer to the harbor entrance. Fire crews had the fires under control at approximately 2:50 p.m., and cleared the scene at approximately 4 p.m. The cause of the fires are under investigation.
