DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF News Release For Immediate Release: March 13, 2019 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS LYLE TABATA, DEPUTY COUNTY ENGINEER Tel (808) 241-4992 Fax (808) 241-6604 County of Kauai and the Hawaii State Department of Health to sponsor school eWaste Recycling contest The County of Kauai Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division with the Hawaii State Department of Health are sponsoring an Electronic Waste (eWaste) recycling drive open to all public and private elementary and middle school classes on Kauai. Kindergarten through eighth grade teachers can sign up their classes to participate by recycling old computers, televisions, printers, office and audio/video equipment, and handheld devices. Each student from the top three classes will win pizza and Jamba Juice gift cards, while the top Kauai student will receive special recognition from the County Recycling Office. Teachers may contact Keola Aki at kaki@kauai.gov or call 241-4195 for more information and to register for the contest. Sign up is open until March 22, and the contest will run from April 1 to 30. All recycling services are provided by Resource Recovery Solutions.
