County of Kauai and the Hawaii State Department of Health to sponsor
school eWaste Recycling contest
The County of Kauai Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division with the Hawaii
State Department of Health are sponsoring an Electronic Waste (eWaste) recycling drive open
to all public and private elementary and middle school classes on Kauai.
Kindergarten through eighth grade teachers can sign up their classes to participate by
recycling old computers, televisions, printers, office and audio/video equipment, and handheld
devices.
Each student from the top three classes will win pizza and Jamba Juice gift cards, while
the top Kauai student will receive special recognition from the County Recycling Office.
Teachers may contact Keola Aki at kaki@kauai.gov or call 241-4195 for more
information and to register for the contest. Sign up is open until March 22, and the contest will
run from April 1 to 30.
All recycling services are provided by Resource Recovery Solutions.
