California man sentenced to prison for sexual assault of a minor
LIHU`E — Mark Price, age 56 of La Mesa, CA., was sentenced Thursday to serve 10
years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor while visiting Kauai in May 2018.
A police investigation revealed that while visiting Kauai with his wife and other minors
last year, Price sexually assaulted one of the minors while the minor was asleep. The victim was
10 years old at the time of the assault.
Kauai police arrested and charged Price, following an investigation led by former KPD
Detective Charles Dubocage. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Keola Siu prosecuted the case.
Price pleaded no contest to Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, and was handed
down the maximum 10-year prison sentence by Fifth Circuit Chief Judge Randal G.B.
Valenciano.
"We are very grateful to everyone at KPD for their work on this case and we are satisfied
that the Judge imposed a sentence that will ensure the protection of the public from this
predator," said Prosecuting Attorney Justin F. Kollar. "We are holding the victim in this case in
our thoughts and hope that this sentence will bring a measure of closure."
Mark Price, age 56
