DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR C OF News Release For Immediate Release: April 22, 2019 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS LYLE TABATA, DEPUTY COUNTY ENGINEER Tel (808) 241-4992 Fax (808) 241-6604 Meeting for Black Pot Beach Park comfort station reconstruction, related improvements set for April 25 Hanalei — A public information meeting for the reconstruction of the Black Pot Beach Park comfort station and related improvements is set for April 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanalei School cafeteria. This meeting is to discuss the design and reconstruction of the Black Pot Beach Park Comfort Station that was destroyed during the April 2018 flood event. The design of the replacement structure is underway and commencement is tentatively scheduled for summer 2019, pending community feedback, permit processing, and any other county, state, and federal requirements. The project shall be designed, constructed, and permitted under an emergency proclamation requested by the County of Kaua`i's Department of Public Works Building Division. This meeting is intended to be engaging, and the general public is welcome and encouraged to attend. General discussion items include but are not limited to the project, scope of work, schedule, and design intent. Representatives from the County of Kauai, Yamasato Higa Architecture and Planning, Inc., and Shioi Construction will be in attendance. A detailed agenda will be provided at the meeting for those present. Attendees are authorized to park in the main lot off of Kuhio Highway, near the drop-off area.
