Road closures announced for Saturday's Visitor Industry Charity Walk
LTHUE — The 411' annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk is scheduled for Saturday, May
11, starting at 7 a.m.
To accommodate the event, the Kauai Police Department will close off the following
streets from 6:45 a.m. until the completion of the walk:
• Ho`olako Street, from the Vidinha Stadium Soccer Field to Rice Street;
• Rice Street, from Ho`olako Street to Umi Street; and
• Umi Street, from Rice Street to Ahukini Road (this road will close just prior to
walkers nearing the area).
Officers will be manning the road closures along the route. Motorists are advised to
expect traffic delays, use alternate routes if possible, and to drive cautiously through the area.
The roughly 3-mile course will begin at the Vidinha Stadium Soccer Field, head down
Ho`olako Street, turn right onto Rice Street, turn right onto Umi Street, turn right onto Ahukini
Road, then right onto Kauai Veterans Memorial Highway (formerly known as Kapule Highway),
and end at the Vidinha Stadium Soccer Field.
