"The resurfacing and repaving our roads are among our top priorities for the people of our community," said Deputy County Engineer Lyle Tabata. "A total of 19 miles — which amount to about $4.7 million of construction work — include Kawaihau and Olohena roads in Kapa`a, Kilauea and `Aliomanu roads in Kilauea and Anahola, Papalina Road in Kalaheo, as well numerous roads stretching from Koloa to Kekaha. Improvements to roads that are federally -funded, which include a total of 6.7 miles and $20 million of construction work for Koloa and Maluhia roads, are in the final stages of federal and state environmental clearance, and are tentatively set to start construction in early 2020. A community meeting regarding Koloa and Maluhia roads is set for June 25 at Koloa Elementary School from 6 to 8 p.m.
