BLANE, CHIEF OF STAFF Tel (808) 241-4900 Fax (808) 241-6877 Acting Mayor signs ninth supplementary emergency proclamation LIHUE — Acting Mayor Michael A. Dahilig has signed a ninth supplementary emergency proclamation on Thursday, June 27, for the County of Kauai, extending the emergency relief period for damages sustained during the April 2018 flood. The Mayor's ninth supplementary emergency proclamation further declares the provisions of all previous emergency proclamations. The disaster emergency relief period shall now continue until terminated 60 days after June 27, 2019, or by a separate proclamation — whichever comes first. Due to the reopening of Kuhio Highway to all vehicles on June 17, 2019, the Mayor's Emergency Rule #1 regarding restricted access to the Lumaha`i, Wainiha, and H5'ena area, has since been rescinded. "Thank you to all involved in the highly anticipated reopening of Kuhio Highway last week," said Acting Mayor Dahilig. "While this was an important step forward, work remains ongoing for the repairs of Weke Road and Black Pot Beach Park in Hanalei. Our road to recovery continues, and through this ninth supplementary emergency proclamation, our officials can efficiently manage all remaining work needed for the health, safety and welfare of our community." In addition, Emergency Rule #2 relating to commercial boating operations in Hanalei is extended to August 26, 2019.
