Maluhia Road to close for community clean-up on July 13
KOLOA — The public is advised that Maluhia Road, from Kaumuali`i Highway to Ala
Kino`iki junction, will be closed on July 13 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a community clean-up.
During the road closure, traffic will be diverted to Piko, Oma`o, and Koloa roads.
Motorists should allow for extra travel time and follow the speed limits and all traffic signs.
The road closure will allow community groups to conduct their annual cleanup, "Gateway
to the South Shore," in preparation for the Koloa Plantation Days. In addition, the County of
Kauai Roads Division will be present for roadside maintenance work.
The Tree Tunnel beautification project is spearheaded by Koloa Plantation Days in
partnership with various community organizations.
Anyone who would like to participate in the clean-up is encouraged to call Bertram
Almeida at 651-3000.
For more information about the road closure, you may call Scott Suga with the Roads
Division at 241-4844.
