Lane closures scheduled for portions of Kawaihau Road from July 8-19
KAPA`A — The Department of Public Works is announcing portions of Kawaihau Road in
Kapa`a will be closed from July 8 to July 19 to allow Maui Kupono Builders to conduct road
construction work from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, weather permitting.
For the first three phases of work, one-way traffic will be maintained at the following
locations:
• Kawaihau Road, in the vicinity of Kuhib Highway and Mimilo Road from July 8-9;
• Kawaihau Road, in the vicinity of Mimilo Road and Nunu Road from July 10-11; and
• Kawaihau Road, in the vicinity of Nunu Road and Mailihuna Road from July 12-15.
For the fourth phase of work, one lane of alternating traffic will be maintained at the
following location:
• Kawaihau Road, in the vicinity of Mailihuna Road and Kahana Street from July 16-19.
Flaggers will be positioned to assist motorists during these closures.
Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road
closures, use alternate routes, and allow for extra time to get to destinations.
