RAYBUCK, CHIEF Tel (808) 241-1600 Fax (808) 241-1604 K-PAL receives donation from Honolulu Professionals Foundation LIHUE — The Kauai Police Activities League (K-PAL) received a check for $22,000 in late September from the Honolulu Professionals Foundation (HPF). "We are very grateful to the Honolulu Professionals Foundation for selecting K-PAL as its first neighbor island benefactor to receive this generous donation," said Kauai Police Chief Todd Raybuck. "These funds will help us immensely in our goal to provide positive opportunities and role models for our youth by engaging them in activities outside of school." Every year, HPF hosts their "Party 4 A Purpose" event, where members statewide donate and raise funds for a selected non-profit organization. This year, HPF selected K-PAL and the Hawaii Home Owners Association as equal benefactors. The $22,000 donation from HPF will go towards purchasing equipment for K-PAL's various youth activities, and will help to cover referee fees and registration waivers for participants in financial need. K-PAL is a non-profit organization coordinated by the Kauai Police Department, offering various islandwide programs to approximately 1,000 youth ages 5 to 18. Its goal is to encourage good behavior, a healthy lifestyle, deter youth from illegal drugs and crime, and help them reach their full potential. It also seeks to strengthen police -community relations.
