Hope Treatment Services to manage Adolescent Treatment and Healing
Center
HANAMAULU — County officials are announcing that Hope Treatment Services will
manage operations for the Adolescent Treatment and Healing Center (ATHC).
"Mahalo to our County of Kauai Housing and Purchasing staff for their diligence and
work during the RFP process to choose a vendor that will manage operations for the ATHC,"
said Mayor Derek S. K. Kawakami. "This project would not be possible without the vision of
Mayor Baptiste and Mayor Carvalho, the work of the Blue Ribbon Panel, and the input and
engagement of the Hanama`ulu community. I applaud Hope Treatment Services and wish them
the best of luck moving forward."
"We are excited and are looking forward to working with the community with helping our
youth," said Stanley Perpignan, program director for Hope Treatment Services.
A grand opening for the center is being planned for the first week of December.
Located on a 5.8-acre parcel donated by Grove Farm, the center has the capacity to
provide a comprehensive, collaborative, community -based, clinically -sound, and family -centered
infrastructure for delivery of mental health and substance -abuse related supportive services to
adolescents and their families.
The center includes an eight -bedroom residential structure with additional open space
for recreational and agricultural healing activities; and a building dedicated for community and/or
professional treatment support services with attached classrooms. A resource and support
room for families, and an additional space for continued education and training.
The state and the County of Kauai funded the project's construction and site
improvements.
