Shuttle service available Nov. 17 and Nov. 20 for Kaua‘i Housing Connect
LĪHU‘E – The Kaua‘i County Housing Agency announces there will be shuttle services
on Nov. 17 and Nov. 20 for two locations during next week’s Kaua‘i Housing Connect homeless
outreach event.
On Tuesday, Nov. 17, participants of the Salt Pond Beach Park outreach event can
catch a special shuttle on The Kaua‘i Bus from Lucy Wright Park. Pick up times at Lucy Wright
Park will be at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The return shuttle from Salt Pond Beach Park to Lucy Wright Park will be at 11 a.m., 12
p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
On Friday, Nov. 20, participants of the Lydgate Beach Park outreach event can catch a
special shuttle on The Kaua‘i Bus from the Eiwa Street Bus Stop in Līhu‘e and from Lihi Park in
Kapa‘a. Pick up times at the Eiwa Street Bus Stop in Līhu‘e will be at 10:30 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2
p.m. Pick up times at Lihi Park in Kapa‘a will be at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The return shuttle from Lydgate Beach Park will be at 11:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3:15
p.m.
The shuttles for these events will say “Special” on the destination sign.
The Kaua‘i Housing Connect outreach event is being scheduled in observance of
National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, which is November 15-22, 2020.
Approximately 15 non-profit agencies will offer various services at ‘Anini Beach Park on Nov.
16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Salt Pond Beach Park on Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and
Lydgate Beach Park on Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Services will include flu vaccinations,
vision screening, resource cards, hygiene products, food, and signing up for housing vouchers
and bus pass programs.
Officials will be wearing face coverings and physical distancing measures will be
observed. Officials are also asking participants to wear face coverings over their noses and
mouths.
