DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR News Release For Immediate Release: November 25, 2020 KAUA‘I EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY ELTON USHIO, ADMINISTRATOR Tel (808) 241-1800 Fax (808) 241-1860 5:15 P.M., Nov. 25, Update: Flash Flood Warning expires, Kūhiō Highway remains closed at Hanalei Bridge The National Weather Service reports that the Flash Flood Warning for Kaua‘i has expired as of 4:45 p.m., Wednesday. Kūhiō Highway in the vicinity of the Hanalei Bridge currently remains closed due to flooding. A significant amount of water currently remains on the road, therefore motorists are advised that the highway could remain closed for an extended period of time. Officials will continue to monitor the water level and updates will be shared when more information is available. The American Red Cross shelter at Hanalei Elementary School remains open. Those seeking shelter should wear face coverings and observe physical distancing measures. Red Cross officials report no individuals have sought shelter as of 5 p.m., Wednesday.
