Kaua‘i to welcome home Miss Teen USA 2020 Ki‘ilani Arruda;
Public invited to greet Ms. Arruda at socially-distanced event at Vidinha Stadium
on Nov. 30
LĪHU‘E – The County of Kaua‘i eagerly welcomes home Kapa‘a resident Ki‘ilani Arruda,
Miss Teen USA 2020. Given current health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, Vidinha
Stadium will be opened to the public for a masked, socially-distanced drive-in welcome on
Monday, Nov. 30.
Parking will be available starting at 3 p.m. The event will start at 4 p.m. and end at 6 p.m.
This event kicks-off Ms. Arruda’s official homecoming tour across Kaua‘i and O‘ahu,
culminating with the 2021 Miss Hawai‘i USA and Miss Hawai‘i Teen USA pageants Dec. 9 and
10, where the successor to Ms. Arruda’s state title will be crowned.
Access to the stadium parking lot area will be limited only from Ho‘olako Street.
Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami will also be declaring Monday, Nov. 30, as Ki‘ilani Arruda
Day in the County of Kaua‘i. After remarks from the Mayor, Ms. Arruda, and other local officials,
attendees in vehicles are welcome to drive in front of the stage to wave to the new Miss Teen
USA, and provide makana or lei as gestures of aloha. Ushers will be stationed along the
receiving line for these items, and the public is advised to wrap all items in a plastic bag with a
label indicating who is giving the gift. All participants must wear a face mask and follow social-
distancing guidelines.
