Toys for Tots drive-up donations accepted Sundays in December
LĪHU‘E —The County of Kaua‘i and Hawai‘i Department of Health is teaming up with the
Kaua‘i Marine Corps League to support safe drive-up donations for this year’s Toys for Tots
donation drive.
Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, drop-off locations used in previous years are not
available this year. Instead, collection boxes will be located at upcoming surge testing events,
where you can drive up to the drop boxes in a distanced, outdoor environment while wearing
your mask. The surge testing is free for all residents, and a toy donation is not required.
Drive-up toy drop-off will be available Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Dec. 6 in
Kapa‘a at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex, Dec. 13 at Hanapēpē Stadium, and Dec. 20 in
Līhu‘e at Vidinha Stadium.
“All toys dropped off at our local Toys for Tots campaign go to Kaua‘i’s keiki,” said Mayor
Derek Kawakami. “Mahalo to all of the volunteers and donors working to make this holiday
special for families in need.”
Kaua‘i’s toy drive is organized annually by the Kaua‘i Marine Corps League Detachment
#938. The mission of the Toys for Tots program “is to collect new, unwrapped toys, and
distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the
campaign is conducted.”
