RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A STOP SIGN ON PILIKAI ROAD AT ITS
INTERSECTION WITH ANAHOLA ROAD, KAWAIHAU DISTRICT,
COUNTY OF KAUA'I
WHEREAS, Chapter 16, Section 16-2.1, Kaua'i County Code 1987, a s
amended, authorizes the County Council to create, define, re-define, eliminate, or
change all stop intersections, which shall be implemented in a manner consistent
with the current edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices a s
published by the Federal Highway Administration and the current edition of the
County's Street Design Manual as published by the Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, Pilikai Road and Anahola Road are located in the Kawaihau
District, County of Kaua'i, State of Hawai'i; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works, based on an engineering and
traffic investigation, has recommended a stop sign be established on Pilikai Road at
its intersection with Anahola Road; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF KAUA'I , STATE OF
HAWAI'I, THAT:
SECTION 1. A stop sign is hereby established on Pilikai Road at
Anahola Road, as shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated
herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The Department of Public Works shall install the traffic
control device established herein in accordance with the provisions provided by law.
SECTION 3. Any person convicted of violating any provision of the
Traffic Code of the County of Kaua'i, Chapter 16, Kaua'i County Code 1987, as
amended, shall be subject to the penalties prescribed in Section 16-21.6.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect upon its approval and the
installation of the traffic control device .
