Kaua‘i police seek public’s help with information pertaining to Paul Christie’s murder
MOLOAʿA – Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of the murder of Paul Christie and the
Kauaʽi Police Department is asking for the public’s help with any information regarding an ongoing
investigation.
Police opened an investigation into a second-degree murder that occurred in Moloa‘a in 2020
after 57-year-old Christie was found dead along the side of Kūhiō Highway on the morning of February
6.
An autopsy later revealed that Christie died as a result of injuries consistent with a homicide.
Christie was last seen alive on February 4, 2020 at the Princeville Center and was believed to be
heading toward Līhuʿe. He had no known permanent address but was residing in the Princeville area at
the time. He also worked at the Princeville Center, a location that he frequented along with the
Princeville Library.
“Again, we want to extend our deepest sympathies to the friends and family of the victim,” said
Investigative Services Bureau Assistant Chief Bryson Ponce. “Our detectives have been working diligently
to solve this case over the past year. In order to continue our progress, we ask that anyone with
information regarding this incident to please come forward so that we can bring justice to the victim and
his family.”
