cases of COVID-19 on Jan. 14
LĪHU‘E – The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported three
new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, Jan. 14.
Today’s cases are all adult residents whose sources of infection are travel-related. Two of the
cases are related to mainland travel, and the other is inter-island travel. One of these was diagnosed off-
island with results received after arrival on Kaua‘i. All active cases are in isolation, and one case remains
hospitalized on O‘ahu. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and offered testing.
Today’s cases bring the number of active cases to 19, with 199 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s
cumulative case count includes 171 confirmed locally, one probable, and 27 positive cases diagnosed
elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
