BLANE, CHIEF OF STAFF (808) 241-4900 Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announces one new case of COVID-19 on Jan. 19 LĪHU‘E – The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported one new case of COVID-19 on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Today’s case is an adult visitor whose source of infection is related to mainland travel. All active cases are in isolation, and one case remains hospitalized on O‘ahu. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and offered testing. Today’s case brings the number of active cases to 10, with 205 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 177 confirmed locally, one probable, and 27 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
