3 PM UPDATE: Kūhiō Highway in the vicinity of Hanalei Bridge closed; Flash Flood
Warning remains in effect
Kūhiō Highway in the vicinity of the Hanalei Bridge is closed as a Flash Flood Warning for the
island of Kaua‘i remains in effect.
A shelter has been opened at Hale Halawai in Hanalei.
Ponding, low visibility and other hazardous driving conditions are expected. If you must drive,
please do so with extreme caution.
A Flash Flood Warning means flash flooding is imminent or occurring in streams, roads and low-
lying areas. Do not cross fast-flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.

police 911 unless you have an emergency.
