6:50 PM UPDATE: Flash Flood Warning extended to 10 p.m.; Kūhiō Highway in the
vicinity of Hanalei Bridge remains closed
A Flash Flood Warning for the island of Kaua‘i remains has been extended to 10 p.m. Kūhiō
Highway in the vicinity of the Hanalei Bridge remains closed. Additionally, officials are monitoring Wailua
River.
Shelters are open at Hale Halawai in Hanalei and Kapa‘a Middle School.
Ponding, low visibility and other hazardous driving conditions are expected. If you must drive,
please do so with extreme caution.
A Flash Flood Warning means flash flooding is imminent or occurring in streams, roads and low-
lying areas. Do not cross fast-flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot.

police 911 unless you have an emergency.
