UPDATE: Flash Flood Warning expires, Kūhiō Highway near Hanalei Bridge remains closed The Flash Flood Warning for the island of Kaua‘i has expired, according to the National Weather Service. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday afternoon. A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that leads to flash flooding. Residents and visitors should monitor the weather and be prepared to take action in the event that a Flash Flood Warning is issued. Both lanes of Kūhiō Highway, on the Princeville-side of the Hanalei Bridge, remain closed due to a rockslide. Motorists should anticipate an extended closure of this portion of the highway until further notice. Kūhiō Highway, at mile marker 4.5 in the vicinity of Waikoko, is currently open to one lane of alternating traffic. Please stay tuned to local media for updates on road closures.
