DAHILIG, MANAGING DIRECTOR News Release For Immediate Release: March 15, 2021 COUNTY OF KAUA‘I TRANSPORTATION AGENCY CELIA MAHIKOA, EXECUTIVE (808) 246-8110 Kaua‘i Bus to begin service at new bus shelters on Eiwa Street effective March 15 LĪHU‘E – To further improve bus service for the public by providing more spacious, user-friendly accommodations, the Kaua‘i Bus will begin serving its two newest bus shelters on Eiwa Street in Līhu‘e, beginning Monday, March 15. As a result of the two new shelters, which were included in the recently completed Rice Street Improvement project, there are now a total of four Kaua‘i Bus shelters on Eiwa Street at the Līhu‘e Civic Center. Each shelter will be clearly labeled with its respective bus route numbers. Passengers are advised to ensure they are waiting at the proper shelter prior to bus arrivals. The following bus shelters and coordinating bus routes are listed below, beginning with the shelter closest to Hardy street, and ending with the shelter closest to Rice Street. First Bus Shelter (Closest to Hardy Street) • Route 800 (Wailua to Līhu‘e) • Route 850 (Līhu‘e to Wailua) • Paratransit pick-ups and drop-offs Second Bus Shelter • Route 200 (Līhu‘e to Kekaha) • Route 400 (Hanalei to Līhu‘e) Third Bus Shelter • Route 70 (Līhu‘e Shuttle) Fourth Bus Shelter (closest to Rice Street) • Route 100 (Kekaha to Līhu‘e) • Route 500 (Līhu‘e to Hanalei) All bus passengers are reminded to observe COVID-19 safety protocols, which includes wearing face masks properly at all times while on the Kaua‘i Bus and at bus stops.
