BLANE, CHIEF OF STAFF (808) 241-4900 Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announces 2 new cases of COVID-19 on March 21 LĪHU‘E – The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, March 21. Sunday’s cases are male visitors. One case is related to mainland travel and the other is related to inter-island travel. All active cases are in isolation. Close contacts are being identified, directed to quarantine, and offered testing. Sunday’s cases bring the number of active cases to three, with 220 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s case count totals have been adjusted to remove one previously reported confirmed case which was determined to be a false positive. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 187 confirmed locally, one probable, and 32 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
