Water conservation request scheduled for Hanalei tomorrow
HANALEI – The Department of Water (DOW) has issued a water conservation request for Hanalei customers
beginning tomorrow, Saturday, March 13 from 9:00 a.m., until further notice. Customers should limit water use
to essential needs only; such as cooking, drinking and sanitation needs, as a precautionary measure.
The water conservation request is being issued in response to the planned power outage in Hanalei town
scheduled by Kauai Island Utility Cooperative.
DOW will monitor well tanks during the power outage and will provide updates to this notice as new information
becomes available.
Water conservation measures include: turning off appliances that automatically draw water; such as ice
machines, irrigation systems, etc. and avoiding non-essential water uses.
